Good Job Daddy! - Print

This print was inspired by a volleyball game I visited in Cardiff. The Game was very close, in the end Cardiff team lost. With disappointment weighing on this player’s shoulders still, his daughter (who’s been trying to run on the court the whole game) runs up to him, handing him a gold sticker. Simply very happy to be with him.

This print was quite tricky from start to end.

Capturing this really big guy appears small, while also keeping the little girl small was quite tricky, as size is best expressed through comparison.

So I really exaggerated this hands and knees, this shows what a big person he is, but his synolett is actually quite small.

Another creative problem I ran into was the colours. I wanted the centre (the gold sticker star) to be the central warmth, and it to get colder around aroudnthe edges. This is still to express the sadness, but the really sweet moment this Dad shared with his daughter.
